Vengeance Demon Hunter Rotation, Enhancements and Stat priority – Patch 7.1

This is my Vengeance Demon Hunter Rotation, Enhancements and Stat priority post. Here you will find information about your rotation/priority, any changes for multiple targets, and advanced tips; the best enchancements for Vengeance Demon Hunters and the stat priority for the class.

I. Rotations:
Single Target Rotation:
The basic idea of the Vengeance rotation is to use up the Pain you generate through various abilities so that you do not cap and waste it, while keeping enough Pain in store to be able to use your active mitigation as needed.

1. Cast Soul Cleave to use up Pain and avoid capping it.
2. Use Immolation Aura on cooldown.
3. Use Sigil of Flame.
4. Fill with Shear.
5. Use of Infernal Strike (which is off the global cooldown) to deal additional damage. You should keep one charge in case you need some movement in the encounter.

AoE Rotation:
The AoE rotation for Vengeance Demon Hunters is quite straightforward:

   1. Use Soul Cleave to use up Pain and avoid capping it.
   2. Use Immolation Aura on cooldown.
   3. Use Sigil of Flame on cooldown.
   4. Use Fiery Brand on cooldown, only if you have the Burning Alive talent.
   5. Fill empty global cooldowns with Shear.
 6. Use Infernal Strike against multiple targets.

II. Stat priority:

Vengeance Demon Hunters have DPS oriented stat priority and Survivability stat priority:

For survivability: Agility > Versatility > Haste >= Mastery > Crit
For DPS: Agility > Mastery > Critical Strike > Versatility > Haste

What do you get from each stat:

Agility: increases your attack power, dodge chance, and self-healing (since your healing scales off of your attack power).
Haste: reduces the global cooldown (until you reach 50% Haste), and also reduces the cooldown of Demon Spikes and  Immolation Aura.
Crit: increases the chance for your damaging abilities and your heals to be twice as effective. Your Critical Strike chance is also converted into parry chance.
Mastery: Mastery increases your attack power, and the amount of damage reduction you gain from Demon Spikes.
Versatility: Versatility is simply a flat damage and healing increase, and decreases all damage taken.
